| A Greeting From the Mayor
On behalf of the City of Mexico, Missouri, I would like to share with you some of the reasons our people take pride in the quality of life in our community. We are fortunate to have a magnificent balance of location, social and cultural amenities and people.
As you learn about our community, I want to emphasize some facts about Mexico. Our community's personality has brought together 11,321 citizens deciding to call Mexico home. We have an extraordinary school system, quality health care at Audrain Medical Center and an outstanding parks system. Our community is building and growing with a dozen new manufacturing and distribution projects over the last 10 years. Recent expansions include Brookstone's national distribution and fulfillment center, a food products plant by Dawn Food Products and an engine component production plant by Spartan Light Metals.
The City continues to produce improvements that enhance the lives of our residents. The US 54 Corridor is the premier location for commercial development in the area while the City offers two business parks for manufacturing and distribution center development. An exciting feature in the community is Mexico Country Club, a private, 18-hole championship golf course.
Mexico is looking into the future. A spectrum of citizens came together early in 2001 to develop the City's Community Based Action Plan to keep the City in touch with the changing needs and priorities of our citizens. Our residents are mapping out their own future on a broad range of needs facing our community, from economic development and public works, to parks and youth issues, to public safety and finance.
In Mexico, we can help business and industry achieve the critical objectives of competitive price and high quality production, and we can do it in an environment conducive to the social, spiritual and professional growth of employees and their children. We invite you to take a moment and acquaint yourself with our community.
We are confident you'll like what you see.
Our professional staff can work with your business to make your project a complete success in Mexico.
