Ample wetlands and woodlands provide plenty of outdoor recreation. Mexico is the home of many lakes including:
  • Teal Lake 
  • Lakeview Lake
  • Kiwinis Lake 
  • C&A Lake

These Lakes present opportunities for many water activities such as:
  • Swimming
  • Fishing
  • Boating
  • Sailing
  • Water skiing

Plus, Mark Twain Lake and Lake of the Ozarks are located minutes away and provide additional water sport activities. Other outdoor activities can also be enjoyed in the Mexico area such as camping, hunting, hiking, and spelunking. If you are a golfer, you have your choice of two local courses in Mexico. The Mexico Country Club offers an 18 hole championship course and the Arthur Hills Golf Course located just two miles west of Mexico, is open to the public.

In Mexico, residents can also take advantage of the following:

Also, walking trails surround the community. In addition, the Mexico YMCA and the City's Department of Recreation sponsors year-round multiple programs and activities for the community.
