[ARCHIVED] Reminder to Not Intentionally Mow or Rake Leaves and Grass Clippings into the Street.

With the arrival of fall and all of the leaves dropping, the City of Mexico would like to remind residents not to intentionally mow or rake leaves and grass clippings into the street.

One of the primary reasons this is prohibited is the impact that the leaves and grass clippings have on the storm drainage system. The leaves and grass clippings are swept in to the drainage system and can result in clogged storm drains, which may cause localized street flooding during periods of heavy rain.

Please take the time to simply collect your leaves and grass clippings and take them to the Singleton Maintenance Building, 221 South Morris for disposal.

Hours for drop-off are as follows:

Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Saturdays 9:00 am. - 3:00 p.m.
