Kids Fishing Derby
The Recreation Department maintains the city's playgrounds and the various buildings located in the city's major park areas. This department also maintains and operates the city's 50 meter swimming pool, which opened in 1986. Finally, the department provides for the operation and maintenance of the city-owned Elmwood Cemetery.
We invite everyone to participate in the wide variety of leisure pursuits available in the parks. Our park system is comprised of 14 parks totaling over 450 acres that provides recreational facilities offering something for the young and old.
You may want to spend a leisurely afternoon sunning, swimming, picnicking, fishing, playing tennis, people watching, or relaxing. Our facilities are for your use! We hope your visit with us is most enjoyable and provides many returned visits for your enjoyment.
